Lucky Daiquiri
A Daiquiri riff on homemade kiwi syrup with half an ounce of Green Chartreuse — green enough for St. Patrick's Day, and good well past it. A pinch of edible gold luster dust and a marshmallow garnish are optional extras.

Preparations
Peel five whole kiwis and cut them into chunks. Combine them with a cup of water and a cup of sugar and bring to a boil for three to five minutes, stirring often. Lower the heat and simmer for another twenty minutes. Take it off the heat, press the kiwi pieces gently, and strain into a clean glass bottle. Let it cool and keep it in the fridge; use it within about two weeks.
Method
- Add the lime juice, kiwi syrup, rum and Green Chartreuse to a shaker, with a pinch of edible, food-grade gold luster dust if you are using it. The original is poured with Havana Club; another Cuban- or Puerto Rican-style white rum works too.
- Fill the shaker with ice and shake until cold.
- Double strain into a cocktail glass.
- Garnish with a kiwi slice. A Lucky Charms marshmallow is optional and adds a light marshmallow aroma.
