Preparations

Sansho-Infused Gin3 to 5 daysproject

Place ½ oz. chopped sansho pepper and a 750 ml bottle of Oxley gin in a large mixing glass and let it steep for 3 to 5 days. Strain before using or storing.

Lady Grey-Infused Fortunella30 to 45 minutessee method

Place 6 oz. loose leaf Lady Grey tea and a 500 ml bottle of Fortunella golden orange liqueur in a large mason jar and steep for 30 to 45 minutes. Strain before using or storing.

Gibson Grass Cordial30 minutessee method

Place 25 oz. tonic water in a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Add 1 small handful of each of the following: loose leaf kukicha tea, prunella leaves, shiso leaves, eucalyptus leaves, chopped lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, lemon balm leaves, and lemon thyme leaves, reduce the heat to medium-low, and simmer for 15 minutes. Strain and add 25 ½ oz. sugar to the mixture. Stir until the sugar has dissolved. Let the cordial cool completely before using or storing.

Method

  1. Add everything to a mixing glass and fill it two-thirds with ice. Pour the drink back and forth into a second mixing glass three times. The further apart you hold them, the better. That move is the Cuban roll.
  2. Pour the contents of the mixing glass into the chosen glassware. Garnish with the purple shiso leaf, LED ice cubes, and electric daisy.
